Sunday Reading

Today is the Sixth Sunday of Pascha; Sunday of the Blind Man.

Today’s Epistle reading is The Acts of the Saintly and Pure Apostles, 16:16–34.

Today’s Gospel reading is from The Holy Gospel According to Saint John, 9:1–28.

Today we are all over the place. From amazing cultural photography to to animals big and small to a defense of language, enjoy your Sunday reading.

D4: More metal than you

So, it appears in a manner similar to how old Russian women are better standing through liturgy than most people, Slavic grandmothers are more metal than anyone I have ever seen at a metal show.

D6: An emotional support animal is not a service animal

ESAs are everywhere from airplanes to dorms. However, you should note that unlike service dogs, no one is provided to allow ESAs under the ADA.

D8: Hotter than hell

Live abides. That is all.

D12: You keep using that word and as a result you have destroyed its meaning.

As Orwell shows, the word ‘fascist’ was overused before they were even defeated. Republicans have been called fascists since at least 1948. Instead, I recommend we recover the word to mean what the founder of the first fascist political party meant it to mean.

D20: Welcome to Mystara

Mystara is one of the least known, but most interesting settings for Dungeons & Dragons. I recently bing watched the last bit of Mr. Welch’s Welcome to Mystara videos. I’m thinking a good system to use for the world, if you don’t want to use BECMI D&D is the d20 version of Big Eyes, Small Mouth.

Video of the Week:

I made this for dinner last night. It’s the second time I’ve made it. Even though it is summer, I think it is going on regular rotation.

Mystara is strongest in my memory as the D&D setting that John Biles liked a lot. Biles is a fanfic writer, who also GMed some Amber games I had a good time reading the logs of. I need to find some time to look him up again. Last I saw, he was doing some interesting stuff with MLP in Mystara.
